    Babies: Birth through 10 months

    Join other families to play and learn in a baby-safe environment. Babies will have fun with activities and songs. Parenting discussions will focus on your child's age and development, early learning activities, sleeping and eating. Parents/caregivers and babies remain together for the entire class. Come learn, laugh, and connect with other families who are sharing the same experience. What is ECFE? Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE offers programs for all families with children from birth to grade 3. Programs encourage children to play and explore helping them learn and develop. Support and information for parents/caregivers. It provides information on child development and community resources.

Guidelines Parents and children remain together. Limit of four children per adult. No food allowed. Limited number of families for safety and enjoyment of all. Do not bring children who are ill. Practice good hand hygiene – use handwashing facilities prior to entering Playtime. All toys are cleaned, and play area sanitized at the end of each Playtime.

    Studies prove that spending time outdoors builds confidence, promotes creativity, provides unique stimulation, and gets children moving, all while reducing stress and fatigue. Parents and children will learn about the outdoors and nature through experiential, hands-on activities. Class will be spent inside and outdoors. Dress for outdoor play and the weather.
  • Every Child Outdoors: 2 to 7 years, 11 months

    This class is for families with children ages 2 to 7 years, 11 months old. Today's children are increasingly disconnected from the natural world. Through science-based exploration and outdoor play, experience the outdoors. Each class will include an opportunity to explore our outdoor learning stations and play with water, sand, dirt and more. This is a great way to get outside with your children, foster curiosity and explore the natural world. Weather permitting, this class will be outdoors for the entire class time every week.

    Explore the wonderful world of art! Develop your child’s curiosity and learning through messy art and creative exploration. Join us for all the fun without the stress of cleaning up! Parenting discussions include the benefits of art (they go way beyond fun) plus a variety of parenting topics chosen by the group participants.
  • Fun in the Sun

    What can be better in the summer than warm temperatures and outdoor fun? Come to the playground to play and learn outside where activities will focus on sand, water, and fun with nature. Class will be held at Purple Park in Andover (near the Andover YMCA). In case of inclement weather, the class will move to Andover Preschool & Family Place.

    Spend quality time with your child(ren) learning and playing together. Parent discussion will examine topics through the lens of fatherhood while sharing mutual experiences, joys, and challenges with other fathers.     Kindergarten is a major transition in the life of a child and also for parents/guardians. It is both an exciting and stressful time. Join us for information, resources and support to assist you in preparing your child for success in school. Each week a licensed Parent Educator will meet with parents/guardians online for parenting discussions.     Children grow up so fast in today's high-pressure world that it's easy to forget to simply play. Join us for lots of "just plain fun" in our outdoor classroom where we'll hunt for bugs, "cook" in the mud kitchen, play with water, sand, dirt and much more! Parenting discussion will include the power of play and other topics. Weather permitting, this class will be outdoors for the entire class time every week.
  • Newborn Parenting: Birth to 12 weeks

    Parents, caregivers and babies, birth to 12 weeks, are invited to join us for our Newborn Parenting series. This is an opportunity for free weekly baby weight checks, to connect with other new parents, ask questions, discuss concerns, gain professional advice, laugh, cry, and talk about life with your new baby. Classes are led by a licensed Parent and Family Educator along with guest speakers including: WIC, Public Health, Lactation, Pediatrics, Early Intervention and Mental Health. Start anytime and come as many times as you like until your little one is 12 weeks old. Pre-registration is not required, but it does help us be more prepared. Registration is FREE! Topics include: Adjustment to Parenthood Healthy Attachment Feeding, Mastitis, and more Perinatal or postpartum mood and anxiety disorder (PMADS) Newborn General Development Tummy Time and Physical Development Illness in Babies, Immunizations and Prepping for first colds Self-Care Returning to Work, Pumping, Daycare Postpartum Body Care Language and Literacy

    Your little ones will love exploring in a child-friendly environment discovering sensory activities along with songs and movements. Learning activities are planned for children on the move. Parenting discussions include responding to new behaviors and interests, language and brain development, and motor abilities along with other topics to help support you and your child. Come learn, laugh, and connect with other parents who are sharing the same experience.

Discuss your child’s development. Parenting educator will guide discussions based on topics selected by participants. Play and learn with your child. Just like every child is different, every class is different. This is a class you can take again and again.
  • Sensational Summer Fun

    Come for a spotlight on favorite summer activities. Children and parents/guardians hunt for bugs, play with bubbles, do art with sand, and "vacation" without leaving the room. Parent discussion topics will be guided by parenting educator and participants.
  • Toddlers & Twos: 18 to 33 months

    During the toddler and two years, children grow by leaps and bounds and naturally develop independence. Despite all this progress, they can also develop some challenging behaviors. Discuss how to navigate these complex years and gain a better understanding of their growth and development.
  • Twos: 24 to 36 months

    Life can be challenging living with the emerging independence of a two-year-old. Enjoy learning activities designed for curious, busy, on-the-go toddlers. Parenting discussion includes information about temperament traits, setting limits, toilet learning and independence. You'll also connect with other parents and caregivers going through similar experiences.
